SLoP is a nationwide event for students who are enthusiastic in coding and want to contribute to awesome open source projects. Even the students interested in starting out for open source development can participate in this event. It’s modelled to be a similar but smaller Google Summer of Code (GSoC), which is a global program that matches students up with an open source, free software and technology-related organizations to write code and get paid for the same. SLoP is aimed at introducing new students in this area and helping them brush-up their skills and gain confidence.
